Rat Toys: How To Make a “Ratmusement Park”

Fifteen feet of climbing, crawling, twists, turns, and exploration in one compact toy. This is a great safe place for your rats to free range that they’ll enjoy for hours on end. And, it takes only a few minutes to put together and costs only about $20 at your local pet store.

What you’ll need:

  • Marshall Super Thru-Way (15′ – found in most pet stores with the ferret toys)
  • 7.5″ Diameter Hamster Ball

Insert one end of the Super Thru-Way into the opening of the hamster ball until it’s well stuck. You can turn it like a screw to put it in, as the wires coil like the thread of a screw. It should fit very snugly. After you’ve attached the tube to the ball, you can loop the tube into knots to create fun climbing twists and turns for your rat. When it needs to be cleaned out, you can remove the ball from the end and rinse it out in the bathtub or with a hose.

The Marshall Super Thru-Way is also designed to connect to other Marshall toys, like the Pop-n-Play Ferret Ball Pit, so you could even attach this to other toys to create a fully enclosed rat playground.

Good luck coaxing them to come back out.
